7 Jersey Ordering Mistakes

Guessing S/M/L leads to tight shoulders, short lengths and jersey returns. No one plays their best while fighting their kit.

Resellers don't control factories. They optimise margins, not manufacturing. Specs get diluted, timelines slip, and there's no direct accountability on QC.

• "Looks similar" on WhatsApp; very different in hand.
• Cheaper inks/fabric, weak stitching, color drift after washes.
• When things go wrong, you're bounced between people.

• Choose a manufacturer who owns the unit and runs their own brand.
• Demand a spec sheet (GSM, fabric grade, mesh, stitching, inks).
• Ask for PPS + fabric swatch from the same line that will do bulk.
• Prefer partners who share factory photos/videos and offer after-sales support.

"Polyester jersey" means nothing. Polyester can range from ₹150/kg to ₹800/kg and still be called "poly." Without GSM, mesh placement, and stitching rules, you gamble with heat, weight, and durability.

• Hot/heavy kits kill performance and confidence.
• Seams fail on dives/throws → remakes & refunds.

• Essential: 140 GSM microfiber (budget/training).
• Airflex: Mesh sides, no stitch line; light & breathable.
• Player Edition: Nike-style jacquard + mesh panels; double-stitched seams; small-front/long-back silhouette.
• Record collar, sleeve, piping, numbering method in the sheet.

You send logos from a screenshot and "close enough" colors from your phone. On fabric, that becomes jagged edges and off-brand shades.

• Sponsors unhappy; reprints or discounts demanded.
• Caps/shorts don't match jersey color in photos.

• Share vector logos (AI/EPS/PDF/SVG).
• Provide Pantone (or HEX/CMYK) for primary/secondary colors.
• Approve a printed fabric swatch under daylight (D65).

Most mistakes are caught at PPS: spelling, logo scale, number placement, color variance. Skipping this step invites last-minute panic.

• Bulk printed wrong → costly reprint or missed tournament.

• Approve a strike-off photo on the exact fabric.

Two PDFs look the same, but under the hood they're not. Low quotes quietly swap fabric grade, GSM, stitching, inks, or color control. On WhatsApp it feels "same-same," but the kit you receive isn't.

• Hot, heavy fabric; seams open after dives.
• Color fades or looks off-brand after 2--3 washes.
• Reprints, refunds, or players refuse to wear it.

• Compare a spec table line-by-line: GSM, fabric grade, mesh placement, stitching, print inks, color control, packaging.
• Ask for PPS + swatch from the actual production line.
• Pick on total value (quality + reorders + after-sales), not just day-one price.

Custom sportswear isn't off-the-shelf. It's built to your sizes, colors, names and sponsors. Last-minute orders force rushed design, printing and stitching--quality drops and small errors slip through.

• Compromised design/fit (no time to refine).
• Color mismatches and numbering mistakes under pressure.
• Stress for everyone--and sometimes, missed match day.

• Fix the match day and book a slot early (even with a tentative roster).
• Set a LogDate so the team stops changing things in the last week.
• If late, choose standard options (fabric tier, collar, sleeve) to save days.
